JackBit / Privacy policy for Canada
Privacy policy for Canada
How JackBit gathers, uses and safeguards personal data for players in Canada, explained in plain language instead of legal jargon.
Who looks after your data
JackBit is responsible for the personal data gathered through this website and through JackBit accounts. We handle that data in line with the conditions of our Curaçao Gaming Authority licence and with the data protection laws that apply to the players we serve, including players in Canada. Privacy questions can go to the support email shown in our site footer with "Privacy" in the subject line, and they will be passed to the team in charge of data protection.
The data we collect
We only collect what we need to run accounts, handle payments, meet our legal duties and keep the platform secure. Depending on how you use the site, that may include:
- Account data: username, email address, mobile number, password (kept in hashed form), language and account settings, or your Google account details if you register with Google.
- Verification data: when we ask for it, your name, date of birth, address, identity documents, proof of address and details on the source of funds.
- Transaction data: deposits, withdrawals, wallet addresses, transaction hashes, the coins and networks used, and card purchases of crypto made through the cashier, including the CAD amount charged.
- Gaming data: bets, game rounds, outcomes, bonuses, rakeback points and VIP level.
- Technical data: IP address, type of device and browser, operating system, an approximate location based on the IP address (used, among other things, for restricted territory checks), and log data from visits.
- Communication data: anything sent to us by live chat, email or other support channels.
We never ask for wallet private keys or seed phrases, and our staff will never request them.
How we use it
| Purpose | What that looks like |
|---|---|
| Operating the account | Setting up the account, handling logins, displaying balance and history, applying bonuses and rakeback |
| Handling payments | Crediting deposits, sending out withdrawals, linking transactions to the right account |
| Legal and licence obligations | Age checks, anti-money laundering screening, fraud prevention, record keeping, checks on restricted territories and regions |
| Responsible gambling | Applying limits, breaks and self-exclusion, spotting signs of harm |
| Security | Flagging unusual logins, guarding against account takeover and abuse |
| Support | Answering questions and settling complaints |
| Making the service better | Learning how features are used so the site can become faster and clearer |
| Marketing | Sending promotion news to players who have agreed to receive it |
We rely on the following legal grounds: performing our contract with the player, meeting legal and licence obligations, our legitimate interest in running a safe and efficient service, and consent where the law requires it, as with marketing messages.
Cookies and similar storage
This website only uses the storage it needs to function, for example remembering that you closed the offer bar at the bottom of the page during your visit. That choice lives in your browser's session storage and is gone as soon as the tab is closed. The casino platform itself uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language and protect accounts against fraud. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time, though blocking essential cookies may stop the account area from working as it should.
Who we share data with
We never sell personal data. It is shared only where needed to deliver the service or where the law demands it:
- Game studios and sportsbook providers, which get the data required to run games and settle bets, such as an account identifier and the details of a bet.
- Payment and on-ramp providers, which handle card purchases of crypto in CAD and may carry out checks of their own.
- Identity verification and fraud prevention services, which help confirm who you are and catch suspicious activity.
- Hosting, support and messaging providers, which run our servers, live chat and email under contracts that protect the data.
- Regulators, law enforcement and courts, where the law or our licence requires disclosure.
Some of these providers are based outside Canada. When data travels across borders, we protect it with contractual and technical safeguards.
Blockchain records are public
Every crypto deposit and withdrawal is written to a public blockchain. Wallet addresses and amounts recorded there can be viewed by anyone and cannot be altered or erased by JackBit or by anyone else. We never publish a link between a wallet address and a player's identity, but it is worth knowing that blockchain records are public by design.
How long we keep it
Personal data is kept while the account is open and for a period after it closes, so that we meet legal, licence and anti-money laundering rules, which often require transaction and verification records to be held for several years after closure. Self-exclusion records are kept for as long as the exclusion needs enforcing. Marketing preferences stay on file until you change them. Once data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized.
How we keep it safe
Data moves over encrypted SSL connections. Passwords are stored hashed, only staff who need personal data for their role can access it, and verification documents are kept apart under restricted access. No system is entirely immune to attack, so we also ask you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your email account well protected.
Your rights over your data
Depending on the law that applies where you live, including Canadian privacy law, you may have the following rights:
- To see a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- To have data that is wrong or incomplete corrected.
- To ask for data to be deleted, where we are not obliged to keep it.
- To limit or object to some processing, direct marketing included.
- To receive your data in a portable format.
- To withdraw consent at any time, where processing relies on consent.
- To lodge a complaint with a data protection or privacy authority.
Send any request to the support email in our site footer. We may ask you to prove your identity first, so that data is only ever released to the account holder. We aim to reply within one month.
Marketing messages
Promotional emails and messages go only to players who have agreed to receive them. Each one includes an unsubscribe option, and you can also change your marketing preferences by contacting support. Self-excluded players receive no marketing whatsoever.
Minors
JackBit is for adults aged 18 and over, or older where a province or territory sets a higher gambling age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below that age. If we discover an account belongs to a minor, it is closed and the related data is handled in line with our legal obligations.
Updates to this policy
This policy may change as our services or the law change. The current version is always on this page, and major changes are announced on the site or by email. More on the casino rules is in our terms and conditions, and other ways to reach us are on the contact page.
